I wrote this letter to the PUC in April 1997 and attached a copy of the disturbing letter I had received from Pacific Bell's legal department that outright accused me of threatening Pacific Bell employees with bodily harm.

Mr. Valenti of the PUC (my assigned "rep") did telephone me after this. But what he had to say was mind boggling. He was not concerned about Pacific Bell's allegation that I had threatened its employees, because apparently Pacific Bell often says that about customers! Valenti told me the PUC had been getting a lot of that lately. He also said there is little the PUC can do "if your service sucks," nor to obtain compensation. They can only help with overcharges, he told me, and that complaining to the PUC would be no help in my situation!
